The NASCAR XFINITY Series teams moved to the first 1.5-mile track of the 2016 season on Saturday afternoon at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Sunoco Rookie of the Year Contender Brennan Poole wheeled the No. 48 DC Solar Chevy for the 162-lap race to a 14th-place result. Although this was Poole’s AMS debut, he has seven XFINITY Series starts on 1.5 mile tracks with a best finish of ninth.

Poole started a career-best fifth for the 250-mile race and at the drop of the green flag settled in at 10th place in the opening few laps. Instructed by his crew, Poole saved his tires for the long green flag runs and began working his way back into the top-six.

CGR QUOTEBOARD

Brennan Poole, No. 48 DC Solar Chevrolet Camaro – “We had an awesome DC Solar Chevy. I was able to get the best starting position of my career and race up near the front all day. Unfortunately, the cautions and pit cycle hurt our finishing position. We continue to make huge strides on our cars and I am looking forward to racing in Las Vegas next week. I made my first XFINITY Series start there one year ago and it’s a big race for DC Solar.”
