DC SOLAR AND T-MOBILE JOIN FORCES FOR COACHELLA 2014
April 7, 2014
By John Miranda
DC Solar, the industry leader in mobile solar technology, has teamed with T-Mobile USA to deploy a solar-hybrid cell tower to this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival (AKA “Coachella”) in Indio, California, to be held April 11-13 and April 18-20.
As nearly a quarter of a million music lovers descend upon Indio, demand for wireless connectivity will be exponentially higher than normal for the small desert community of 79,000. In order to accommodate T-Mobile customers, DC Solar will pair its patented Solar Eclipse SCT20 Hybrid with T-Mobile USA’s COW (“Cell On Wheels”) in order to fortify and enhance service for T-Mobile customers.
In addition to shoring up T-Mobile’s capacity, DC Solar’s precision mobile generator will cut fuel consumption by an average of 75%, when compared to a standard gas or diesel generator.
DC Solar Founder and CEO, Jeffrey Carpoff: “We’re excited to be a part of such an iconic music and arts event, and we’re extremely proud that our partnership with T-Mobile helps fulfill Coachella’s mission of sustainability.”
DC Solar Founder and COO, Paulette Carpoff: “The artists and crowds you see at Coachella reflect the same ideals that drives DC Solar and the solar movement, in general. It’s about innovation. It’s about the future.”
This is the second year DC Solar and T-Mobile USA have partnered for Coachella.
